Welcome To My Blog!

Hi! This is my first, official blog post, on my first, official blog. So, I wish to make it as special as possible. First, let me start off by telling you what kinds of content to expect here, and what to look forward to in the future.

This blog will focus on relevant news, tips, and tricks in the vast ecosystem of Professional Web Development. It will also serve as a centralized headquarters, of sorts, to self-compiled media libraries of rich, freely available (CC & GPL) online, digital content. Nearly all content I post on this blog will be licensed for free consumption by, and freely available to, the general public (commercial or non-commercial —Individual licenses may vary).

You can also expect to see HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP source code examples, written as tutorials. These can usually be identified in blue code blocks as shown below (other types of 'blocks' will be explained later):

THIS IS A CODE BLOCK:

<!– A simple “Hello World” HTML script –>
<html>
<head>
<title>Hello World – HTML Example</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Hello World!</h1>
</body>
</html>

I also will try to make use of some blog space to inform the public of the progress and status of my online classifieds site "James Classifieds" (but of course you can find that information on the James Classifieds Blog, as well), and my latest updates to James Art Galleries.

To add even more usefulness to this web space, I will post relevant links to useful, media-rich content sites, and SAFE, downloadable collections of free fonts, graphics, and [royalty-free] audio. Check back later for the next major post, featuring a web developer's dream font collection. Meanwhile, to get the ball rolling, I have compiled a list of a few important links every web developer should have in his/her Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera or IE bookmarks*:

Fonts: Graphics, Images and Icons: Ready-Made Scripts:

There are most certainly more, and I may update this list in the future, but these should get you started looking in the right direction. Also, keep in mind that many websites (including this one) pay for their free services and content through advertisements, and if you don't care to see the advertisements (as many don't), you can always download a free, simple-&-safe ad-blocking software called AdBlockPlus online that will remove most (if not all) of the ads from [your view of] the site. However, if you want to support the site you're browsing (and I hope you'll support this one), it's best to unblock, or "white-list", the site in the ad-blocking software you're using in your web browser.

Well, I guess that wraps it up, for now! I hope you enjoyed reading my very first (and brief), official blog post!!

For now, I would like to take this time to formally welcome you to my Official Blog, and I hope to keep your interest with useful, exciting, and intriguing, new posts!

See Ya Soon!!

Yours truly,

-James A. Jr.
